Based on the characteristics of the various materials previously discussed, there is no single "most durable" material; however, there are highly durable options suited to specific settings:

Metal
Stainless steel and cast aluminum (or aluminum alloys) represent the top tier of durability. They offer high load-bearing capacity and resist rust and deformation; with normal use, they can last over a decade, making them ideal for high-traffic commercial spaces.

Hardwood
High-density hardwoods such as oak, beech, and walnut feature tight natural fibers and excellent impact resistance. Provided they are properly treated against moisture, they resist cracking and loosening over long-term use, offering far greater durability than softwoods like pine.

Specialized Applications
For humid outdoor environments, materials like wood-plastic composites (WPC) and engineering plastics are virtually immune to aging; they are waterproof and sun-resistant, offering durability that far exceeds that of standard materials.
